Contrary to initial speculation, Siege X is not a direct sequel (Rainbow Six Siege 2), but rather a significant overhaul designed to redefine the game for its second decade. Game Director Joshua Mills emphasized that Siege X represents a “big evolution,” building on the foundations of Siege while introducing new gameplay mechanics, graphical and audio upgrades, and refined tactical systems.
Ubisoft describes Siege X as “the biggest transformation in the game’s history,” aiming to reinforce Rainbow Six Siege’s position as a leader in the tactical first-person shooter genre.
